Where are they now? Meet Hannah Green, a Musician in The Royal Air Force who reflects on her time participating in the National Concert Band Festival.
“NCBF was always a highlight of the year when I was part of Gloucestershire Music. Getting to play in venues like Cheltenham Town Hall and Royal Northern College of Music at a young age was extremely exciting and fulfilling. This also stays with me now as a Royal Air Force Musician. For any engagement we might have in a venue that I played in with NCBF, it always brings back the happy memories of the friendly and nurturing environment the festival was. I have been in the Band of the RAF Regiment since 2017 and every day is different, which I love most. One day we could be marching down the Mall onto the Buckingham Palace Forecourt and the next we could be performing at the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo in Sydney or at a charity concert in Ruislip.
NCBF really gave Gloucestershire young musicians an opportunity to be celebrated while gaining an award at the end of the festival to be proud of. I really enjoyed my time participating in NCBF and those memories and experiences will stay with me throughout my musical career.“
